Back firing like mad

So I have searched and not found what I am looking for...
I have a 2006 that I just picked up. Took it out for a spirited ride today and it is back firing at all rpms in all gears when decelerating.
Bike is pretty much stock but it has a Jardine CF exhaust. Everything else is as it came from the dealer. Bike has 4200 miles. What do I need to do? K&N and an ECM? It just seems off as of right now. I want this bad boy to sound clean.

my bike wa sbackfiri g and sputtering like crazy. i did the breather re route and changed to iridium plugs...runs like a raped ape now. smooth as hell.

Jardines will pop on decel, your probably running lean running stock
You could try the quiet insert also, may help

Yeah, the Jardine is most of the backfiring - like they said the Breather reroute may help some. Probably the best thing you could do is forget the K&N (since it's decel popping as it is) and flash the Race ECM settings to your bike for now. Later, if you still want the K&N, get a custom mapping or do some datalogging.

So does the crank case breather mod have any differences on CA bikes? I have that huge pop can on the side of the bike as is.

Breather reroute and Cali can "delete" are 2 different things and mods. Breather reroute is good for all XBs. The Cali can was just on the California Xbs.

OKAY, I am updating on my breather reroute. I followed all instructions to a T. Bike is still popping hard at any decel and even when shifting. Any other thoughts?

Maybe a loose joint in the exhaust system? Can't that cause it to pop on decel?

I have a mod exhaust and a breather rerought. My bike back fires all the time. I was worried about it for a while but now i like it. My girl love how it growls and gurglles and coughs and pops. I like it now its my bike and its pissed. It does not affect my power but it does give me bad gas mileage. Dont worrie about it. it sound bad ass.

i think u need a calibration if running exhaust & hi-flow; but not if only exhaust. try your idle adjustment and clean plugs; maybe even a tps reset
