I've been lurking on the board for a while, finally registered. I have an 06 XB12R, black/amber, race kit, debadged, with some other minor mods.

I bought the bike without even riding it. I just knew I'd like it (and I do!). I'm still pretty rusty, and I ride like a candy-ass, but man it feels good to be on a motorcycle again.

As a teen, I grew up riding dirt bikes, racing moto-x and desert. I had one streetbike, (an 83 GS300, good little bike, I beat the crap out of it) but I was always an off-road guy. Went down hard on a borrowed XL600 on the street (someone made a left in front of me, ended up in a knee brace for 2 months) and swore off street bikes. Swore off bikes all together, actually. After playing with cars for many years, and having a small, early mid-life crisis, I just needed something new.

The Buell XB was love at first sight. After shopping on and off for little over a year, I bought my bike. I favored the Lightning, but as fate would have it, I ended up with a Firebolt. I might go crazy and do some swapping, but for the rest of the season, I'll leave her alone.

Having some minor pinging issues, and a light load-related metallic noise. Noticed the tensioner pulley is rubbing on the race exhaust, might be the problem. Still digging around on the forum for more answers.

Anyway, looking forward to being a part of the Buell community.

Welcome to the Forum CBi. :D[up] Great to have you on the Board. Welcome back to riding and the Buell "Family". Here's some good info: New Bueller Info

The Breather-reroute will help with some of the lower RPM stuttering issues. And be sure and check out the "Buell Service Manuals" link at the top of this page, they come in real handy even though it may not match your exact year/model.

CBi, welcome, I'm one of the old goats on this site, and bikes have always been in my blood. Where you located? I'm in northern calif. Maybe a ride if you're out west. Rocky Bar.

Welcome back.

"Light load-related metallic noise." Well put, I experience the same thing but never really knew how to describe it.

Let's see some pics of the 'bolt if you get a chance!
