Back on a buell. I've bought and sold quite a few bikes in recent years... Came across a 05 xb12r firebolt with less than 7k miles. Clean bike. PO had a EBR Race ECM with Carbon jardine rt-1 exhaust, but still have factory air cleaner?

I ordered up a K&N and a RSS. I also plan to pull the rubber snorkel from the intake and add 4-6 1.5" holes in the side of the airbox cover. Hoping to contribute as much as I lurk in the background. Located in Delaware and often ride the Susquehana river valley in PA if anyone is in the area.

nice machine. there's a ton of us buell owners along the susquehanna river from the NY line right down to havre-de-grace, MD where the river dumps into the chesapeake bay.

Awesome.. I work in Aberdeen. I take the long way back to Delaware when I ride the bikes in to work and will run up the river on the West side and cross-over at Holtwood Dam or sometimes even run all the way up to Wrightsville.

What is your thinking behind this? Removing it will be detrimental to performance.

Nice bike, BTW.

Restricts air intake track? The rubber snorkel that goes through the frame. From what I've read, this was part of the instructions for the EBR race kit installation? Correct me if I'm wrong here though...

Ah ok. I was in the same boat. I was under the impression you were talking about the rubber intake boot in the airbox.

Good info on the velocity boot... I was surprised how stock the bike was when I got it, so I have to back track the right combo to ensure its running up to par. Great forums and great people are what I always run in to with Buells. Motorcycle enthusiasts... Just sold the last of the crotch rockets (zx10r, cbr600rr). I'm enjoying riding distance more and enjoying a view vs. having everything as a blur...
