If I'm going to keep this bike for the long run I'm going to need a better saddle for my Firebolt. I love doing trips on the bike but my posterior is less than pleased with the stock seat :p (my butt was SCREAMING after that 1500mi trip).
Has anyone tried Baldwin saddle? They will re-foam and re-cover your stock seat for $200-400(depending on the material you chose). If their a decent quality, it seems like it would probably be worth it.

I saw that Corbin also carriers a new seat but I've read a lot of negative about poor fitment and lousy customer service from them.
Any thoughts?

Just do a search on here for Baldwin and you will find lots of posts from his customers.

I have a touring seat made by Baldwin and love it. Excellent workmanship and he stands behind his work...highly worth it.

Their seats are good quality . I like mine , but have not had any rides on it over 100 miles . Great for short rides , much nicer than stock . Mine is the leather with gel insert . I also kept stock height , if you do not mind seat being taller you can have them add extra gel . The leather version will cost more than you are looking to spend . Color stitching makes it look nice .

Like seat, it has Gel and is alot better than stock,May have to send back to get some gel removed lost about 3/4 to inch now on tip toes.

does the gel get hot??

No more than any seat. Like Agate, I gained seat height, an inch or so. I was tippy toe before the change. Loren narrowed the front and it's really no different now. Except my ass feels much better.

Nice lookin' seats. [up]
The extra height doesn't bother me bit. I'm 6' with a 33-34" inseam. I have no problem hitting the ground. I've ridden enough dirt bikes that being on my tip toes at a stop doesn't concern me either.

Anybody taken a really long trip on one of those Baldwins, like 1000mi+? How's it feel after a few days in the saddle?
I can ride 500mi on the stocker w/o too much trouble but once things start going downhill my butt gets hurtin' bad, quick! After it gets that bad it takes a full day off the bike to recover.

I had Baldwin install a gel pad, wrap it and trim it down a bit.

Love it! I've had a few different seats and I'll be keeping the Baldwin as long as I have the bike!

I got the Baldwin in and shortly after I sold my Corbin and select seat.

I love my balwdin! 350 miles saturday and i felt like i could ride another 500. I have the gel and am very happy.
