Anyone know how to check it?
Been working for almost a month to figure out this short I have.
Ive got it down to the BAS, the TPS, or the ECM.

There is a trouble shooting section in the service manual. I'm having ECM related problems as well and from what I read you can unplug it from the circuit and the bik will still run. You should have 5 V at the red/w wire leading to it. With only one sensor unplugged you should have close to 5v. If you don't start unplugging sensors, and when the voltllage jumps up to where it should be that last sensor is the culprit. There are 5 or 6 sensors, cam position, throttle position, bank angle, etc they all have a common wire, the red /white wire.

I have not been able to solve my problem which is similar to yours.
read this thread http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-For...B12Ss-CityX-XB12Scg/Troubleshooting/No-spark-

It helped me understand whats happening more.

Thanks. I know that the red wire is the common issue that I have the short. Its just the issue of finding out where the fault is. Just praying that it isnt the Race ECM.

Your red/wt wire is shorting to ground? Did u unplug from ECM and test if the red/white wire shorts to ground? If that is the case the fix is relatively easy.

Im pretty sure my ECM is Fryed. With the ECM disconnected the draw goes away. But I also can have the ECM plugged in, and unplug any of the other sensor that the red (5V) wire go to and the draw goes away also. However, when I take out the ECM and do Continuity check from the red wire pin to the ground pin I get a beep for just a second. Also, I am thinking that this all started when my battery took a crap at work, and had to get a jump (from a Car). Even with a jump the bike would not stay running, So I replaced the battery with a brand new one, and it fired up and ran great. But the new morning, the new battery was dead, and that is when I found the draw. I am just wanting to verify that it is the ECM before getting a new one. Anyone have any input on the mess.
Also, this may account for why I cant get my ECM spy to connect, and even the shorting the pins methods doesn't get the check engine light to fash.

Ooooh, sounds familiar. My check engine light will not flash when I short the pins either. I see a pattern here.[sad]

I think you may have incurred damage from the Jump, but you need to check the red wire with your meter set to ohms and see if there is a meaningful short to ground when all the sensors are unplugged. If so there is a place where the harness is rubbed through. If not it may just be the ECM was damaged in the jump. We both had events that could have been the beginning of the demise of the ECM, but the units didn't fail right away. Mine was a worn through harness on the brown/y wire and the light green wire back by the shock reservoir.

Ive done the wiggle test, and ran all over the harness looking for anywhere the wires may have grounded. With everything disconnected, the i not ground for the red wire. Im pretty sure its the ECM, but just want to be 10% before I order the one . I am already searching for a 12 Race ECM.

Don't forget to publish the outcome. Nothing worse than these threads that just stop with no conclusion. Others will learn from our experience.

This might be a dumb question but the car was off when you got a jump right? I have gotten a jump from a car but it was off and all is good.

Now I always carry my trusty jumper box. This thing will jump my truck multiple times with no problem and also doesn't over kill the bike. Charges your phone if needed as well.

Car was running. This is what has lead me to believe that the ECM is fried. Now looking for an ECM.
