Bars and grips

Just a quick question. At the weekend im going to change my standard bars over to my renthal bars i ordered. Will i need new grips or do the standard ones come off easily? Does any body have a picture of the rizoma sportline grips fitted?

I used WD-40 to loosen my grips that I wanted to put back on. If they are not completely stuck to the bar, you can jam the straw under the inside of the grip and spray some in there, and then work it down until the grip slides off. If a very strong adhesive was used to install the grips, this might not work.

Hello Chris,
I changed the bars and grips on mine,but unfortunately couldn"t remove the original grips without damaging them,The rizoma grips do finish it
off nicely,I plumped for the silver Renthals and
the billet aluminium/rubber grips,which I am well
pleased with.Good luck.

If you have access to an air compressor, You can use an air chuck and blow air between the bars and grips. Thats how I do it and it works for me... Just blow the air and twist off.

The air compressor trick works great! The grips came off so easy. Anyway i got my new bars and grips on today. My bar end mirrors dont fit with the renthals so i will have to order some new ones to get rid of the micky mouse ones.

I have the pro-taper low riser bars... they have the thicker middle part so i had to get the 1" riser from precision engineering which works out great... love these bars.
The bars i got from a web-based company that actually based here in Vegas, THUMPERTALK.COM but they were about $75 from what i have seen in stores around town.

finally got my mirrors fitted as well..
