Hello, friends in Buell.
I have a question for you.
I have in my possession that sexy new secondary clutch actuator from EBR, '09 cover plate, and gaskets. I am hoping that it will solve my problems with DOT4 spewing all over my Black n' Blue Beauty. ('08 R)
First off, I have never cracked open a motorcycle before, though I have done plenty of maintenance on cars. Also, I am an aircraft electrician. Which on my platform requires loooads of mechanical work, I get as dirty as those dirty dirty mechs. All I really mean to say is I am neither expert nor genius nor even remotely competent enough to just jump into something and have it be 100%.
So without further flapping of gums:
Can I expect any surprises or does this pretty well cover it?
Mostly I am looking for any "oh by the way..." , "watch out when..." , and most importantly the "DO NOT...".
Also, there's no way I am going to buy that clutch removal tool if I don't have to. The only problem I could see right now is torquing. Mostly because I haven't seen it yet. Will I have this problem? Or is it the consensus that it should just be gotten in order to remove all doubt?
While I'm at it, Does anyone have a problem with your bike pissing itself all over the swingarm? Mine is doing it to the point where it is eating the powder coat away. It seems like this absolutely never stops, no matter temperature or amount of time the engine is/was running. my MPG is only about 21-25 as well. Seems whack. Bought it with a Drummer on it, had the voltage regulator/harness recall done. Thats about it I believe.
