Thats why I plan on buying an extra belt soon.. wish they were not so expensive though..

I remember seeing a few posts on here where people broke their belts. Had them replaced and the new one broke around 8k. Any thoughts on that?? Any way around it??thx guys

I was told the belt I bought was a lifetime belt, and from that i assume that if it breaks, it gets replaced. i'm sure minus labor though. I got it replaced tonight with the help of a friend so I'm gonna go out riding.

i was on a bagger that just got sold; took it round the corner up the hill.

it stalled. found neutral, fired up, slammed it to 1st & BAAMM. the belt snapped off.

10yr old bike with 50k though. it needed a new 1 :D

My '04 XB12R snapped it's belt at 21k. I'd been to the track 2 weeks before. Also it had the hardest life a belt could have. Snapped when I goosed it for a wheelie. The NEW '08+ belt is supposed to be "unlimited service interval" HAHAHAHAHA I'll see.

i have an 04 xb12R and ive blown 6 belts already... i blow them cause i stunt alot and clutch up wheelies.... when you clutch them up ou snap the belt, simillar to taking a leather belt and foldint it and pulling it to make the snapping noise... it just can take that stress and hen breaks... i had enough of the expensive belt crap so im switching mine over to chain drive... then i can change gearing as well pretty easy...

Well my 08 belt simply sheared 14 teeth off the belt, the backing didn't break, was able to ride it back to Harley for a replacement.

The new ones are supposed to last longer than older ones, probably why Buell offers life time warranty on them.
