Belt Tensioner

This is probably my next mod. Hopefully we'll get some sort of yes/no about Trojan Horse's reliability at the present. [confused]

the solo buell service is great... ordered a part from them 3 days after my order "shipped" from ASB... the solo buell part made it here on the same day as my asb order

I'm surprised that someone stateside hasn't come up with one...anyone know the engineer that made the hidden brake bracket to find out if he can fab a tensioner, might be something to look into :D

Pete@Grandstand designs is in the final stages of bringing his new tensioner to market. Supposedly by NOV is what he told me yesterday. Unfortunately it will be between $3-400. I'm going to hold out and see what his looks like then make a call between that and the FS one.

At $3-400, unless it comes with a polished billet tensioner wheel and it's delivered by a Playmate in a bikini, my choice's already made.

If 50Dro is out there maybe he can generate a lil something, something. I know I would be interested for sure!!!!!!

I've been running a free spirits belt tensioner for some years now, very good, but not without problems
1º the inside bushings get so much dirt it stops moving and the bolts strat to rust, and it creates some play if not taking care of
2º wheen assembling a new belt the spring gets so compressed that the inside spring bolt touch the end of the tensioner, I've drilled some clearance so the bolt travels a bit forward

motoq-if you have pics of what you'd done, that would be great!

I've contacted Matt from Trojan-Horse again directly at his personal email address or at least the last one I could find and still nothing. I hope they are OK.

I'll contact Solobuell and see if they have one in stock and let my bank deal with Trojan Horse.

My Free Spirits Tensioner came via Trojan Horse. It took 35 days but is beautiful. Solobuell I am told has them in stock at the time of this post.

I opted for the tensioner to allow me to use other gear ratios, sprockets etc but it also really improved the way the bike shifts I presume by reducing the load on the transmission.
