Hey guys,

Shopping for my second Buell, 5th bike overall. First Buell I had was a Cherry Bomb 09 XB12Scg I bought right after Buell went out of business. Don't have it anymore, and I'm in the market to buy a Firebolt, ASAP.

I would like an '09, but prices are a bit high for my immediate budget. Thus, I have mostly settled on an '08. I've seen some '04s I like, namely some in red, but I really can't shake the Arctic White/Hero Blue XB12R from my mind, and it's the color scheme I'm after.

I understand some changes were made to the transmission (I think) in '08?

All I'm looking for here is a list of the improvements throughout the years, especially between '08-'09, so I can determine if the extra money for an '09 is worth it.

Looking to buy this week or next, so prompt answers are appreciated.

Thanks all,

-111R

Doesn't anyone know of any improvements made throughout the years?

I know 2010 models got a right side scoop and LED lights, but surely someone must have an idea about the mechanical improvements.

I don't think there are any big differences mechanically. I know the 09 has a black engine vs the 08 has a silver one.

Thanks Grego and oh9. Looks like there's some more black in the 09s, and, more impressively, 8 piston calipers with the ZTL2.
