Hello, any good recommendations for the best oil options? Thinking about Amsoil motorcycle, however, Mobil 1 makes a good one as well, Redline is another one. This bike only have 549 miles not even broken it yet... but I want to do the oil change soon~

Thanks!

[up][up][up] for this forum. I recently joined a car forum and if someone asked this EVERY single reply would be "How about you try searching?" or "This has only been asked a billion times before".

So many times I wish that forum could be more like this forum :(

I agree with Bitchin 100%! I used Purple in a turbocar with an oil pressure gauge, and in 2000 miles, I would have 1/2 of teh oil pressure at idle I would right after the oil change. Changed to Lucas with no problems. Running Amsoil in the bike...both holes, forks and brakes. It loves it, and just got through taking the top end apart (choice, not problem). There was little sign of wear at 13,000 miles, and I started with Lucas, then changed to Amsoil. Not bad IMO.

I used Mobile one on my last oil change and it did in fact make the bike noisy to the point I was actually concerned that it was damaging the engine. I will try Amsoil next time.

I have used Amsoil from the start. It has been great in both locations and from the crankcase it shows little sign of breakdown. I love the stuff, wish it were cheaper though.

Amsoil made it feel sluggish. Royal Purple felt about the same. Syn3 and Mobil1 seem to run the best for me every time.

Motorcycle specific oil like "V Twin" is made for bikes that have a single sump. Have to make sure it doesnt mess with the clutch. Our engines have separate sumps. They leave some good friction modifiers that are good for the engine out because of the shared sump clutches. I stay away from the motorcycle specific oils.
