Bike is coughing and throwing code 16

Battery checked before starting is 12.7
When running it is at 13.8
At 3000rpm it's at 14.1-14.3

check your positive battery cable where the cables go into the end.there are 3 wires and they tend to become loose.this caused a voltage and iac code on my 09.

ok took it out for 15 min. The thing ran great. As soon as i go around the block from my house it started to choke. After a couple chokes it would rev up to 2000 and then come back to a normal 1100.

checked the battery when off it was 12.6
checked when on it was 13.7
checked when reved to 3000 14.0

why am i throwing a code 16?

O yeah..sorry. yeah i have those from the site. i think i am going to need a charger to test the charging system. unless i am being dumb. I dont know how to use a volt meter. I am electrically inclined.

I have it on battery on my volt meter. i unhooked the negative terminal and then i touched the negative wire with my negative wire and touched the negative terminal with the positive wire of the volt meter. i got like 12. 20 or something. it said nothing more then .03. But im not sure if i am even doing it right.

i would need to see a pic of your multi meter and i might be able to talk you through the tests over the phone.unless you have another bueller close to you.

I would have it switched to 9V BATT to test everything. idk what the other symbols are.
