yes you can test your charging system with that setting.to test your battery take it to a parts store and have it load tested.the 9v and 1.5 on your meter is for small household batterys.

this code can be caused by 12 volt feed to the ecm being low on voltage or high voltage.it can also be caused by excessive starter draw or other problems.
it is not limited to battery or charging system problems.

red leed in top hole thats marked 10 amp.dial turned to the right in the green section 20m or 200m depending on the circuit.

ok good. it is reading 0 so there is no draw and that is good. No i need to get to my ECM and check that

i dont have a breakout box for that. i tried seeing if the voltage meter would work but i can not get the pointers in there for that.

So now i know its not draining my battery. so now im stuck.

you dont need one get a couple pins or needles and use them to pierce the wires.

your ecm is behind the front faring.also check all your ground connections.

i never removed it. it came with the bike not hooked up. when i bought it it was fine. then 2 days later it cut out on me and both codes popped up. 16 and 21. i know what 21 is and dont care. but 16 i am.

I also noticed that it has been a little hesitant when trying to give it some throttle to get up and go. it would hesitate for a sec then start to go real good

yeah i checked all the fuses. are there any other then then one connected to battery and the ones under the fairing?

not sure on the firebolt.if you have the manual look at the wiring diagrams for both codes and see if they share anything like a fuse, relay or circuit.
