Bike is coughing and throwing code 16

lol i do this all day long at work.your problem might be intermittant and only shows itself when riding or hot.

it only shows when i ride ride for like 15min.

have you tried a tps reset for the cough it has.also i noticed you said you have a cable coming.i would do a tps reset unplug the exhaust actuator wire the valve on the muffler open clear the codes and ride it the recheck the codes.

'08+ TPS Reset Procedure:

- Turn on the key.

- Set the kill switch to the run position.

- Don’t start the engine. Rotate the throttle from fully closed (gently forced closed) to fully open (gently held open), and then back again to closed (gently forced closed).

- Repeat 2 times for a total of 3 times. Hold each position (fully open, fully closed) for 1 full second.
- Turn the key off and on.

one more thing. when i just tried to start it it was really slow. almost like it did not want to start. it jumped to start then do anything after that then when to try and turn over. all this while holding down the ignition

could be starter switch.the contacts get dirty and need to be cleaned.could be starter drawing to many amps.if you had the battery load tested that rules the battery out.

i have it hooked up to a battery charger on 2A for a AGM battery and it says it is at 25%..wtf i tested it with volt meter and it said 12.7. i am so confused.

what does your meter show now

when it is charging it shows it at12.8

after it charges for a few hours turn off the charger hook up your meter to the battery and while cranking see how far the voltage drops.

by the way. that ecm spy. will that allow me to pin point what wrong or just clear the codes and figure out what they are?

it might provide you with data that will help you pin point the problem.plus you can turn off the exhaust actuator pid so it dosnt set that code.its worth having.
