I'm a big fan of the t-rex stands, can find them on ebay for a decent price. here's some pics.

holy shitake i feel retarded. so what are the spools and how are they installed?

front stand has a peg that fits into the bottom of your triple tree, have to make sure you tell t-rex its for a buel when you order, the rear is a piece of 1/2" round stock with a end welded on and the other end drilled with a lock bolt on it, quick easy piece I made at my shop, works for now, bike stable on it and car fun through all the gears still stable.

those trex front stands seem nice but I wish they made a rear stand that did not need spools.

edit: never mind I was reading there site and they state that if you have a bike that does not have spools they will send you the brakets to use instead.

are there any stands for my lightning which would not require a spool set up?

pitt bull makes some and from reading the t-rex site it says if you own a non spooled bike to let them know and they will send you the correct braket to hold non-spooled bikes.

I have a set I got from my local Honda dealer. They had spool setup and a flat plate that fits perfectly under the swing arm. Works great. I believe they are just a generic stand with multible mounting setups. I believe they came from either Motovan or Parts Canada. The front stand has the pin that goes into the bottom of the frame under the bars.

Harbor freight has them for around $50. Can't seem to find the thread on here but the guy who had bought one said they were of decent quality. However, you would have to bend them a little to get them to fit our swing arm. Here is the link.

the t-rex stand comes with both brackets for spools and not for spools, I just prefer lifting from something it had no chance of slidine on, since out swingarms are angled, thats why I made my spool bar.

if you look at my pics of the rear you can see the non spool side, all you do is flip the bracket around.
