Black and Blue?

So ends up they might total out my bike...wierd, but im not complaining. So I would be getting a new Firebolt, and since the MSRP on the '09's is the same I was thinking about getting the black and red 09. On a super side note if it is totaled they will offer it back to me between 3.5-4k....sweeeet. So...If all goes as planned, I want to get the black/red and change it to a black/blue 09 firebolt. and then sell off the new white/red one for a nice profit? I cant take credit for the color idea, i think it was dan, or daves idea for the white/red but that black and blue sounds so sweet to me. Im no good with photoshop but if anyone might be so kind as to make up a couple pics in their spare time that would very kind of ya. The official damage estimate is tomorrow morning, so Ill drop you guys a not tomorrow afternoon/evening with an update. I searched for the post to give appropriate credit over the color idea and couldn't find it, but thanks to whoever that was!!!

My insurance is going to have a kitten when I send them the latest estimate. Dealer missed almost a grand worth of issues, and my 500$ helmet. Total payout of almost 5k. Ouch!

I just got back from the stealership, they said they had a bike last week with less damage and they invoiced it at 5.7k....I really hope they total it, so I can buy it back really cheap + get an 09 and do up that color change.

So if all goes well ill have a white/red '08 Firebolt XB12R for sale here pretty soon in perfect condition except for the title with 5.6k miles on it. Ill prolly let it go pretty cheap, im not too greedy.

Yeah, the extra 1k on mine would have put it over the edge for a repair job... woulda been totaled. A week after they cut me the check to fix it I came across an 06 with all the options, bags, grips, etc, for less then I paid for mine.

I swear im not trying to steal your idea, I just want the black and blue and the white and red is justa by-product. If all goes well id trade you the white plastics if they total out my bike, they dont have a scratch. If you have time dave would you be able to photoshop a black/blue? Im ****** with photoshop

Oh ya I thought the same thing. Ceramic coat would do the trick, and I intend on doing that anyway with all the cold weather riding I get each year. On a sad note, it was a bit off the mark to getting it totaled. I might take it to seattle in hopes of a dealer there being a bit more greedy. So black and blue is out unless I trade my white for someones black. Dave...?

Just buy the black setup and keep the whites as "extra", you know, "just in case".

good color change! Sorry I was a bit slow on the reply. So I'm lazy and didn't bother reading the whole thing, But I priced out changing the color but getting new plastics and it was $600. Its much better than getting the bike with the plastics that you want and changing the wheels. Does that make sense?

But trade huh? Yeah!! I have a small cratch on the back of my rear cowl, so I would get you a brand new one

Thats pretty sick, I might have a week off sometime during the middle of Oct. But **** man I might do it in the winter. Im from Fresno and L.A. and I havn't seen a palm tree in like 3 years.

Thats pretty awesome man. Well I def want to, let me take care of all this insurance stuff and we can get this going. Iv never changed out the windscreen or the upper cowl, or the Buell Emblem but we'd def need go to a shop for the wheels/tires.

Man im stoked to take a trip down to Cali and do all this. Anyone have an idea what average cost is to change wheels/tires? And what has you guys done/used to remove and re-adhere the Buell airblox emblem?

lol... although.... the new CR has flat black wrinkle finish wheels. If you can peel off the red stripe and put a blue stripe in it's place, it would look BAD ASS
