Hey I have an XB9sx cityx buell that keeps on blowing the ignition fuse.
The bike functions perfectly for about 15 minutes until you come to a stop. After giving it gas and slowly starting to move once again, it blows the ignition fuse. After replacing the fuse, It consistently blows it after a second and third try. Bike will not properly function until completely cooled off, where it will function properly for another 15 or so minutes. Realized the ignition control relay was becoming quite hot as well. Also realized that the cooling fan will not come on at all. I know the fan is supposed to be running on hi while stopped and then low once you start to go once again and perhaps during this transition is where the fuse blows, even tho the fan does not function what so ever.
Has anyone had these kind of problems or have any suggestions? Was considering replacing the fan or even the temperature sensor.

Before you do that. Check the entire bike for a bare wire touching the frame or motor or something. Always start with the cheapest lol

Welcome to the Forum, the Forum has much information so post up if need be.
You have a shorted wire in your Ign., start at the Steering area and trace it down from there. When the bike is cool it contracts, and gets hot it expands and the Vibration also is letting it touch the Engine block or another area of Metal frame. If ONLY the Ignition Fuse is Blowing and nothing else is blowing(Fuse) on any other area the Bike then get a Circuit Tester and start probing.
Don't let this type of job get you impatient it happens to many bikes and other Vehicles. This is why I Rotated down my Buell Engine and Recovered the Entire Wiring Harness so I hopefully won't have to worry about this type of problem.
Don't put a Larger Fuse in the Fuse block(holder) you could cause some serious damage to the Wiring from doing that. Take your time and you will get it.Good Luck .*Jimi

I messed with the bike today. It will run properly at idle except the fan will not turn on when warm. It can be ridden until the engine gets warm, AT this point the bike will function properly until you come to a stop. AT stop the fan does not come on like it is supposed to. Does the bike have a failsafe that blows that fuse if the engine temp gets too high and tries the fan, which doesn't work. I went to the troubleshooting of the fan and after all is said and done, It tells me to replace the ECM.
So does the bike have a failsafe built in and blowing the fuse due to the fan?
ALSO, would anybody in the Chattanooga area be willing to meet me at my house with a functioning ECM, to test and/or sell. I would rather find out that that IS the problem before i spend money on an ECM.
Much appreciated.

Hi Reinbourne!
The movement of the bike has NOTHING to do with the fan running or not....The fan is controlled by the cylinder head temp sensor. It MAY come on whether the the bike is on a roll or not! It WILL come on when you actually shut the bike down and it's hot enough, but otherwise... I'd have to research it myself, but I don't think the cooling fan circuit is tied in with the "ign" fuse. IF it is, it is possible you have a short somewhere when the fan is being 'told' to run, I'm just pretty sure the two are fused seperatly. ("ign" and fan). I DO know the wire at the temp sensor often wears thru and shorts, but I believe this just makes for erratic fan operation, not blown "ign" fuses. Research that though! :)
