The best summer jacket I've seen to date is Cortech's HRX jacket. It's pricey at $265 but well worth it. ...Breathes very well when moving but the reality is when its near 100 degrees, you could be shirtless and still sweat. I can drink more water but I can't immediately replace my skin.

Whatever you do stay away from Xelement textile/mesh jackets. The price is great but I've sent two back when they fell apart after 2 weeks of use. I only go with race proven gear now.

I have the Icon armor vest, Buell mesh jacket, and several others mentioned in these post. I live in Orlando so I can sympathize with the heat issue!
My favorite for extreme heat is the power trip army vest it has more padding than the Icon vest and I also think it is a little cooler since it is a tough mesh. I don't like the mesh armor jackets like Alpinestars they are not comfortable at all. The Buell mesh jacket is really comfortable if you can find one just make sure to tear out the tag! Hope this helps! Any more questions let me know I've been here for 3 years and I have a ton of riding gear! oh yeah so far for rainy season the Icon rain gear works the best!

It's 90's and total humidity here in eastern MD in summer, and a mesh jacket gives me protection and adequate venting. Back, shoulder and elbow armor, of course.
I'm actually surprised how late into spring and early in fall I can comfrotably switch to my leather jacket, though, with zipper vents.

I'm bad, I don't wear much protection in the summer. When it's 115 degrees out less is more.

In the spring/fall/winter I wear the Icon Motorhead Leather Jacket. Has all the standard armor in it. I also feel like I could take a bullet when I wear it. BEEFCAKE.

Mesh jackets with “CE” certified crushable armor is ok for street riding. Impact and abrasion protection is what your looking for but heat or not I would still to with a Motorcycle specific pants like ICON jeans or even matching mesh zip on pants for a mesh jacket. One area that should never be skimped on are quality gloves and boots. My only get off was when I hit a deer on my Triumph Thruxton 900 but I was wearing a Vanson leather with full armor, Icon barrier pants, Alpinestar’s boots and new Frank Thomas gloves. I had not abrasions after hitting the ground at 40 mph but I did break both my hands. It would have been much worse had I not been wearing good gear. If you ride you will crash. Took me 100,000 miles before my first one.

Is NO ONE here a fan of joe rocket?! I wear a phoenix 4.0 and it is a godsend in the summer. Breather like a tshirt and DOES hold up well in a crash. I took a little spill from about 20mph, rolled a few times.. Jacket took all the impact in the shoulder and just frayed out the material a little. i wasn't bruised or sore or anything. only thing i got was a little scrape on my hip where the jacket didn't cover.

On top of that, i've seen other people crash in them and they didn't walk away with a scratch. at least as far as where the jacket covered. One person crashed at 45 and ripped his pretty good, but still no injuries...

My two-piece is a Rocket. Haven't worn it OR my boots in 3 years. Anyone want a size 42 race suit and boots?

slomo is dead on. i ordered an axo version and had the same results. the large was way small and i had to send back for a bigger size.
