So what are the recommended boots? I wear a size 14 and right now I can not wear my work boots. The toe is to tall and I fight to get under the shifter.

I just wear some lightweight casual hiking boots from walmart. They have a pretty low profile toe, so they fit under the shifter very well. They are good stiff leather so they do protect pretty well too (this has been tested unfortunately).

+1 on adjusting the shifter

I wear the A* SMX-R boots.

I really like the fit and protection they offer.

Here is a link with a video review $299

Sorry I don't think they go to size 14...

ride in either my danner uniform boots or A*'s SMX shoe the shoe its more comfy but i think i'll but up grading to a tall boot as soon as i have the money.

Not to gat all "gansta" but timberlands r the best boots ever!! I had my last pair 7yrs and would still have but I word in a garage and the oil and chems. on the floor finally ate the botoms off. HIGHLY recomended to all. Yes -+1 on shifter adjust. Read that and had my duh moment of the day

Every time I've tried on boots, I felt like there's no way I could move my ankle enough to even work the shifter. I was looking at just ordering the Joe Rocket Velocity and Alpinestars Miglia riding shoes and hoping they'll work for me. Anybody have any tips or suggestions?

I just ordered these. I wanted something comfortable since I ride like an old man most of the time. No offense old men, just saying...

I know these suck in the means of protection but my GF bought them for me a lil while back so I wear them for around town use:

and yes they have metal heels

I wear my work boots...tan leather Belleville's when in my ABU's, black leather Belleville's when in my dress uniform. I also wear the black leather pair when riding in civilian clothes. Both are very comfy, plenty of movement, and seem to offer a lot of protection. It would be nice to have something on the left toe to protect the leather from the shifter.

I use an these Joe Rockets or my 10 eye Dr. Martins. Docs are more comfortable but not as safe obviously.
