Anybody in the San Diego area willing to let me borrow their stands for a couple weeks while I remove the stator and ship it out to Rick's for a rewind? Can't justify an additional $200+ on top of the new rotor and rewind for stands I will rarely use. I don't have rafters from which I can support the bike and or torque required to reinstall the rotor.

I Assume your talking about the 1125? I did exactly what your doing last summer. i did all the work on my kickstand, like you i didnt have the extra cash for stands at the time and no other way to do it. I did the whole operation in my garage just on the kickstand. of course it helps to have a buddy or two, but it can be done, and trust me Im no mechanic.

Ya, 1125, hence the 1125R section of the forum. :D
I've gotten some feedback over on BadWeb as well with options for keeping the bike upright. With my luck the application of 300 ft/lbs of torque being applied to the rotor nut would cause the bike to pivot on the stand and fall over. [mad]
