Seen this on HFL and thought I would pass it on to my fellow Buelligans.

Looks kinda like a Harley XR1200, right? It’s not. That bike makes 85bhp and weighs 573lbs. This bike makes 100bhp and weighs 374lbs. That’s because it’s a Buell motor, wheels, brakes and suspension housed in a custom steel spine chassis. The Bott XR-1 is going to rip.

The XR-1 is the product of Spain’s Bottpower, maker of that impressively intricate steel trellis-framed Moto2 racer and previously a girder front end CBR954RR. The project’s been in the works since last year, when a customer commissioned the firm to build him a Buell street tracker.

“Tt took a lot of time to make it, mainly because we did it thinking in building several units, not just one bike,” Bott’s David Sanchez tells us. “We plan to start selling the kit soon, and we are working on some more special parts and options for this bike.”

The chassis is impressively simple. Simply a steel tube connecting the swingarm pivot to the head stock. Unlike standard Buell’s, the fuel is housed in a traditional tank.

Since the stock swingarm is retained, so is the standard Buell shock position and belt drive. Basically, this thing could quite easily rolled out of the old Buell factory.

“The front fork and 8 pistons brake caliper are from a Buell 1125,” explains David. “Front master cylinder and clutch lever are from ISR (including the push buttons). The bike aslo has a Motogadget display, and an Easton handlebar. Rear shock is an Öhlins from the Buell 1125 race kit.”

The oil cooler is tucked away behind slats in the carbon number board, next to the dinky projector lamps.

A tidy carbon seat/tail/number board completes the incredibly clean package. It appears to be supported by a small aluminum subframe.

it's cool, but the tank is too HD...ish for me, solo seat and the front screen could have been designed better, I'd change those three things and she'd look awesome, I assume the battery and electrical stuff is located in the black box mounted high behind the primary

I am digging it, have been since the previous thread with rendered pic of what it should look like

no tie bar on the front lower part of the engine?

My thoughts exactly! This thing is going to shake your teeth out. I think it's going to be a all show (oh that looks cool) type motorcycle.

Over all a pretty cool look, but that flyscreen is not what I would want on it. That's my least favorite part of the bike.

The neck bone frame will bend and twist. The bike won't be stable during hard braking and curves. Still it looks great

This was my first thought when I had seen the picture of the frame last year.

They said in there press release, that they are going to do testing in two to three weeks....

I honestly don't think it's going to work that good, unless they go to a solid mount frame front and rear. but then I think that the stock Buell mount holes/spots will not be able to hold up and will break since they will only be using 2 out of 5 motor mount spots.
I also think the oil cooler placement is bad...bad.... You lay your bike down on the right side that oil cooler is going to be the first thing to go....not to mention if the oil cooler fails you might have oil shooting in your face....

I like the idea.... It would be a great flat tracker, they just need to but more r&d in it.

I agree with you squid but also for another reason. Airflow is going to be deminished due to a fork tube sitting right behind it, IMO.

Agreed! I think they have a long road ahead of them and its far from the superior handing of the bike it being made from.

I wanna see extensive road/track tests and then I'll see if I like it. I dig the looks.
