brake pads to thin?

havnt rode my new bike yet its got 600 miles on it and my front pads are half or less the thickness of the rear pads, is this normal or do i need to replace them?

i wouldnt be too worried about that. unless they dont feel like they are doing a good job at stoping. You get 70% of your stopping from the front tire..with that said you do want to make sure the 30% in the rear is working well too.
 
You might want to check the maintenance manual for the specs, but sometimes you can tell by the amount of the manufacturers groove that is left on the pads (just above the end of the last 'W' on the photo). It's fairly typical for brakepads on any vehicle. Some will have a 'wear line' printed on the edge, and some will even change to a compound that begins to screech under braking. It appears that there is plenty of 'groove' left in the photo.

But once again, it's best to check the maintenance manual...
 
i thought mine were thin as hell so i ordered new ones and thier the exact same thinness. very little pad on brand new ones.
