Welcome to 1995 guys. John was a genius when it came to engineering! I have seen two in person, the bikes are absolutely amazing in person!

This is the one at Birmingham, AL in the Barber Museum. If you ever get a chance to go to Barber it's well worth the trip!

Their are 3 of the 10 in the US.

Buell did too. His idea was using the engine as a frame.

One Mans Dream is a cool documentary on the V1000 project. ^03 beat me too it! But Im the one that turned him on to it.;)

Still one of the coolest bikes I've ever seen. The amount of engineering that went into this bike is astounding. It's crazy to think that almost the entire bike was built in his backyard.

I've always wanted to take one of those apart. The front end is similar to a Duolever but I've never been able to find a good picture of the Britten's setup. That engine is pretty amazing too. In the documentary you see John Britten heat treating components by hand.

The XBs are amazing, but I think the Britten is still going to influence (and should be outright COPIED) bike design for decades.

In his wife's pottery kelm.

His house was amazing as well, all built from recycled material from a bank that was being tore down nearby.

oooo I remember that one. Countless hours I spent looking at the pictures, drawing the suspension, etc. So cool.

I hope to make it to Barber Museum this year or next.

I just got through watching "One Mans Dream" That is an awsome dvd. I can't believe this bike didn't wind up getting mass produced. I would have thought someone would have ran with it......
