09 firebolt with 11k miles. Only bucks once in 3rd gear and will contiue driving like normal. Only will do it in 3rd and I've tried to do it in other gears. I've shifted hard into 3rd wide open throttle and it didn't do it until I let of the gas and snapped back on the throttle then it'd buck once (hard) almost like something slipping and grabbing and then just drive on like nothing is wrong. I've checked the belt and rear sprocket. I just changed the primary oil not even 2000 miles ago and it didn't have shavings or anything in it. Any insight will be much appreciated.

I'd recommend taking it to a reputable mechanic to have it evaluated. That it only happens in 3rd sounds suspiciously like an issue that could be related to the transmission itself. Also, I had a bike (not a Buell, Honda as a matter of fact) that would behave much as you describe (though it's problem was 2nd), i.e., when I accelerated hard it would 'pop' out of gear then 'whang' back in suddenly. That turned out to be a transmission-related issue. Apples and oranges, I know, but never the less…

You'll get good advice here from others who are more knowledgable than me. But there's no substitute for having a seasoned mechanic, preferably one familiar with Harley-Sportster/Buell, evaluate it in-person. Chances are, when you describe the issue and/or if they go for a test-ride, they'll have seen it before and can provide a fairly quick diagnosis.

My buddy is stopping out tomorrow evening to look at it. He went to school for bells few years ago. I'm hoping it's not trans related or I'm fixing it and going back to jap bikes sadly.

Well news is good it's not the Trans or clutch. My buddy determined it was running badly due to tune. Pulled the plugs and the front cylinder is rich and rear is way lean and plug electrodes worn down. Had to order the correct software from ecmspy for mono at a whopping 71.50$, new iiridium plugs and 8mm wires from iron machine 36$. just waiting for my funds to clear so I can download the software needed for the ddfi3 and start tuning (well my buddy tune it). Sucks you have to buy the tuning software from ecmpsy for 08+ bikes. We tried rt pro and couldn't get it to work.

dann bring sie doch in die werkstatt, und lass es von denen machen,. vielleicht ist es dann billiger.

siehst du, deswegen ist die eine software für lau, und die andere kostet. wer dumm ist oder faul, muss halt zahlen.
