Buell Racing and Roehr will merge on July 18th 2009. Their combined efforts and the efforts of H-D on the once secret experimental 800cc. V-Four from europe. Will bring about the first true American built MOTO GP Race Bike. The motor is based on the 72 degree 1125R motor. Valve train is similar to the one currently used in the 1125R. No word on what computer system will be used. Though it will have to meet race rules. Frame will be a combination of both cast and forged parts with the possibility of a plastic rear section. Fuel will be in the frame going into the tail section to get around the V-Four layout. Buell's trade mark underslung exhaust will be modified. Part of the exhaust will be under the motor with the remainder will exit out both sides. More details will come as they are available.

Google doesn't seem to pull up anything useful on the article Wokor2 mentioned.

What's your source?

Roehr uses a supercharged v-rod motor from what I can find on line. Nothing about joining Buell.

More details will come as they are available.

More details now available:

October 15, 2009: Harley-Davidson Motor Company ceases production of Buell Motorcycles.
