I love chicken strips, just not on my tires...

Do you remember the chicken strips thread I started way back when? What ever happened to that? It made for good conversation. I learned a couple things about riding from that thread.

I do, you might be able to dig it up. Just search for threads started by you along ass time ago hahaha. Chicken strip threads are always good. Those are my old tires, still working on the PR3's

I am only on my second set of tires. I have not gotten to ride her anywhere near as much as she deserves. Army makes it damn near impossible to ride sometimes, with the workload and red tape involved. I actually stuck with the Scorpion Sync tires that came on the bike. I will probably continue to do so until they update/upgrade/discontinue it. I'm not one to mess with a good thing.

I believe those are considered chicken strings. lol

I haven't pushed the xb nearly as much as I have other bikes in the past like my old 954rr. I only needed to use 1st and 2nd gear at the track.

The way I got rid of mine is that there used to be a nice curvy road between my house and post, when I was at Fort Knox. The posted speed limit was actually unsafe for cars/trucks, turned out to be perfect for my bike though. Just worked on it gradually until I was going through there with confidence, nice and low.

I took the chicken strips off my m2 pretty easily, and that thing ground pegs if you looked at it wrong. The xb is easier to do so, i usually leave about 1/4-1/2 inch chicken strips on my tires.

No time to read the whole thread, but I always thought the most impressive riding skills were not cornering per se, but low speed maneuvers. Generally new riders pick up cornering pretty quickly, but trying to do a figure 8 on a goldwing terrifies me. That takes mad skill.

Is it possible to put the front Fairing, headlights, mirrors, and windscreen from a firebolt onto a buell blast. It looks possible but I was wondering if anyone has tried it and succeeded or failed, thanks for any help.

Anything is possible as someone else said. If you're able to cut and make your own brackets, it shouldn't be difficult. As far as wiring for headlights, I just always take the trail and error path ;)

The Blue one with the R tail - a pic I have almost works - I still think the proportions are off - though the S fairing and lights look good!
EZ

hmmm... 6 pages of crap and finally a picture and honestly the xb fairing doesnt suit the blast tail. i would trim it down some.

Found them - lol

Seperate note - lol - that covering the clutch was in a parking lot, I also cover it when splitting lanes.

EZ

IMO ..... Good from far, far from good. I dont like how the seat and rear fairing dont line up to anything. And im sure from behind, it looks like a bicycle tire under the big firebolt fairing.... Sorry I like fat tires ;)

Plus im a little confused as to why you would try so hard to make it look like a firebolt why not just buy one? (Honest question)

I have a Firebolt subframe that I'll be fitting to my Blast. Though I won't be putting the outer plastic on. I like the rectangular tube steel structure, it matches the backbone of the Blast. I like the overall shape and seats better than the Blast as well.

Mine won't look like those above (no plastics and no front fairing), I'm doing it for the naked structure and seats.

Because the Blast has superior handling. Have you read anything lately RJ? :D

With that 240 tire on the rear, I might have to agree in this case.

Most of this thread, Wow... and not World of Warcraft wow either.

As for the bolt blast, eh, I don't like either.

If you're going as far as the blue one went, why not just put the blast engine in a XB frame?
