Almost all bike insurance I have ever had cover attest 1500 for accesorys and most those also cover your damaged riding gear.
Glad your ok hope u get it togther soon

details on the crash

ok, it was a curve road curving right, I was going into the curve, all was good, then my back tire out of nowhere slid out dramatically. I counter steered and tried not to lock the brakes up. By this time i was sideways in the other lane, then hit the gravel on the shoulder and the bike went down with me on its right side into the ditch, then rolled over into the field. The gravel was like sand almost all over the road. here in this town there has been alot of construction, my guess is a dump truck was overloaded and sand and pea gravel was leakin out.

Bah man thats terrible to hear of anyone goin down [sad] . The important thing is that your okay! Hopefully it wont take too long to get you back and running! Good luck with everything and keep us informed!

That gravel sucks. Im glad your ok brother. Sorry to hear about all the damage to your bike but at least its all replaceble. Good to hear a story about such a thrashed bike but the rider only having some bruises. Hope everything works out well for ya+ 1[up]

ya know it was weird because i have taken that road a thousand times and its five min from my house. I was coming home from a ten hour shift just day dreaming and enjoying the weather. I was leaning to take the turn buy by no means being aggressive. I was accelerating through it and that is probably why the bike slid.

Out here in northern Illinois the roads are crap, so warning to all of you dont put your bikes through it by driving out here.

I called them in march and told them I want full coverage, which includes collision/ liability, 3K in accessories and all that good stuff. It came out to 640 bucks one payment for the year. So i did, and now they are telling me they wont cover the bike because I didnt have collision. I told them i wanted it, i paid for it, but im not getting it. So were fighting with them now. Im going to switch carriers. If worse comes to worse and they wont fix it, ill take it to harley and make sure the motor and alignment is all ok. If it is, I will be in the market for parts guys.

just some more pictures. Tell me what you guys think im looking at here.

ok guys bad news my insurance is lying and they wont pay for it. So i need parts. [sad] Im ready to walk over to the insurance place and go rouge on them.

The good news is that assuming nothing else is bent (like forks) that it would cost about $500 for all that stuff if you bought it new. Get it on eBay, it you may get away for less than $300.

signals are like $15
the side rail is $120
the cheesegrater is $120, but since youre gonna cut it, get a used one anyway
handlebars are like $80
the airbox cover is $250 for a translucent one

I run full insurance, but not for stuff like this. If I don't wind up in the hospital, the insurance doesn't need to know about it.

Ok thank you ill put a list on here now of what i need. If anyone has any of this they are willing to sell let me know.
fyi bike is a 2005 buell lightning sb12scg

-right side rail is cracked, need a new one
-airbox is cracked, its original carbon fiber from buell
-handlebars are bent, need new ones (stock) or 1125 cr bars, or renthal streetfighters
-Headlights are hanging down, so im assuming some bracket broke?
-Right side scoop shattered, need new one
-right side controls are messed up, need new ones
-need new seat
-need header wrap
-brake fluid container under seat, the white bracket cracked so it is dangling. I need a new bracket
-I also need two rear turn signals

oh and mirrors.

If anyone has any of this for sale let me know, I would greatly appreciate all your help. I am sore but that will heal, it could have been much worse. I just want my bike to be ok and up and running in no time.

I am switching insurance companies so they arent paying for any of it. Im on my own, so if any of you can help me find what i need that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your help and support.

So does anyone have side rails for an xb12scg? I know a cityx 9 side rails might fit too??

Maybe I'm being terse, but roads I don't ride everyday I don't ride hard unless I have ridden them before and know the status of them. That's just my opinion on how I ride on new / first time for the season roads.

They use pea-gravel here to put on icy roads and if you aren't paying attention and trying to hit it hard, you'll be in the ditch early and often.

Sorry your bike is broken up though.....

yea thanks, They say your most likely to go down on familiar roads close to home. I guess they are right.

gtp3800 you can have my stock signals for free as well as stock mirrors if you want. I don't have any other parts that you need I could spare or sell. You can pick them up by yourself if you in my area anytime soon (or pay for shipping) - I live in NW Chicago and I know you're somewhere in northern Illinois. Let me know.
Glad you're ok.

thanks magic pm sent. I think im going to buy a new airbox lid and side rails off asb.

Anyone think i can just bend these handlebars back??

Check buellsterparts.com for seat rails, they have them in stock $122.75 per side

BTW When I bought my bike bars (right side) were a little off and I managed to bend them back. Yours are in worst shape than mine were but you can try. It's not like it can get worse ;)
