Buell helmet, sizes? issues?

got this helmet from a local guy in our Norton Club, he has a big head like me and normally wears an XL, but this was too tight for him, as he knows i am a Buell nutter, he gave it to me as my other full face was badly damaged back in August after a wreck,

This thing is a pretty nice helmet, i like it, but it IS super tight, its challenging getting my eye glasses on after i put the helmet on, is this normal? (not an issue on my other previous helmets)

this thing has some good venting which i like to prevent fogging, i would prefer a better tab for opening and closing when wearing large thick gloves, overall im impressed with it, but was hoping to get some feeback on it.

did Buell use a number of manufacturers for Buell helmets? any advice on what to look for on them?

Hey Int-annoyance.. if you want that helmet to loosen-up and fit better, go buy a (smaller, rubber) kids play ball and let the air out, then stuff it inside your helmet and pump it back up.. let it compress the padding for however long it takes to enlarge the space & be comfortable for your head. I did it to an Icon helmet I had a while back, took 2 weeks with the ball inside but the fit became perfect [up]

Thats an interesting idea on using the ball inside. truth is i dont mind TOO much the tightness except getting my eye glasses on and off when i have the helmet on. In my crash when i got hit by the car,, She hit me from behind at between 70-80 mph while i was doing 45, my glasses flew up inside the helmet, i wondered where they went,, the lenses had popped out and the frames were way up on the top of my head inside the helmet so MAYBE,, really tight is good???? I was wondering if these Buell helmets tended to fit tighter or thats just the standard now. Im going to try some shops in town and try and find a knowledgeable dealer and compare some others.

Other than a flat twin, a parallel twin may just possibly be the only engine cooler than a V-twin.
