This is straight from a Buell news letter I got today.
Subject: Buell Motorcycle Company’s Planned Operational Consolidation
Dear Dealer:
As a part of company operational excellence efforts to reduce cost and improve efficiencies, today Buell Motorcycle Company made public its intention to consolidate operations from five leased facilities into one leased facility in East Troy, Wis. By moving our operations into one facility, we will spend less and eliminate waste which results in greater value to our customers.
We anticipate Buell will move into the new leased facility in the first half of 2010. The new location will be just south of Buell’s current location, in the East Troy business park.
Key to this consolidation plan is to sustain our highly valued, dedicated Buell workforce. The East Troy area has been home to Buell for 25 years and we have a dedicated group of long time employees who live in the East Troy area. Moving outside of the immediate East Troy area was not an option as that would severely impact our existing work force.
The impact on your dealership is minimal and will not affect any of our established ways of doing business with you.
As plans progress, we will keep you appraised of major developments.
Sincerely,
Jon Flickinger
President and Chief Operating Officer, Buell Motorcycle Company
