On my 03 fb9r I got a buell race exhaust with the race filter and race ECM, now I also bought a jardine can for a really good price (put new rivets on it and some paint). Do u think it's a good idea to put the jardine can on? Has anyone done this before I just don't want to lose too much low end. And the buell race can looks heavy and it could probably muffle a small car. oh and btw will I need to reset my tps? I'm seriously considering this after work today

Probably will not have to reset the TPS. But that is quick and painless. Be prepared to drain oil and take off the oil lines running from the swing-arm to the motor through the stock muffler bracket. The Jardine is LOUD.

If you're not into custom mapping your ECM, put on the Race kit. Was designed by Buell for use on a Buell so you should be fine with just doing those mods.

You'll lose a lot of the lower end grunt/torque if you go with the Jardine unless you do some custom mapping. The Race ECM won't be enough to make up the loss for the open design of the Jardine.

Really not looking forward to disconnecting the oil lines, and taking off the kick stand

Im pretty sure one of the steel braided oil lines runs through one of the mounting brackets for the stock exhaust. The Jardine uses its own custom mount as a replacement that doesn't interfere with the oil line. Its fairly painless

Yeah the kickstand has to come off if you want to use the fairing bracket that they give you, its a pain if you dont have a stand. I dont recall taking off the tensioner though?

Tensioner off to remove the Buell can clamps. Also, on the 2003 model three oil lines run through the crescent moon shaped aluminum Buell muffler bracket. That crescent shaped bracket comes off for the Jardine one to go on. If going back to the Buell can, remember that crescent shape bracket is shorter on the belt pulley side.

I didn't take the tensioner off when I removed the exhaust, I just rotated it till I could slide my socker and extention thru it.

Yeah I suppose it must be different, on my '06 XB12r I didnt need to remove the tensioner, and there was only one oil line running through the "crescent" bracket

I never had to remove the tensioner. Just used a socket extension. My vote is to stick with the Buell Race can. Sounds way better than the Jardine. Also you will lose a lot of low and midrange with the Jardine. My Jardine was on for about a week. Now Buellchick is enjoying it at a very discounted price.

Didn't read all posts but when I took off my Jardine I never had to disconect anything other then the chin.
