Buell rear Axel

Are all Buell rear axels and bearings the same from 07-2010?

2010 used three rear wheel bearings instead of 2

No the 2010 is a 3 bearing with a different axLe. All other years are the same

So if I have a 2007 xb12r the 3 bearing kit won't work. Part number g1321.02a8?

No the wheel is different too. So you'd need the 2010 wheel, axle, bearings and spacers to use the three bearing style.

Well i have over 30k miles on my bike and the last time my rear tire was changed they almost couldn't get the rear axle out because it was almost stripped. Where can I get new axle and should I do bearings? Also bike just started leaking ever so slightly from primary clutch cable not enough to drip just enough to get on cable and small spot on primary, any recommendations?

Might as well do some maintenance, the clutch cable o-ring doesnt take long to replace.

The part number you referenced above "G1321.02A8" shows to be for 03-09 buells on buellparts.net

Yeah but the seller says it's for a three bearing wheel.

Hm, I dont see a new replacement axle from asb or buellparts... Maybe give buellparts a call about their "kit"

That is a 3 bearing, spacer, axle kit part number.

Yea I dont think they have a contact number, but as oh9bolt said its the 3 bearing kit so its most likely just misrepresented on their website...

The 2010 Axle can be used with the 2 bearing wheel also.

So question, if the axle is the same are the axle spacer and bearings the same just with one more or would that kit I posted be a waste of money, and would you just replace the axle if your bearings are still good?And how hard is it to change that seal?

Unless im mistaken (and i dont think I am) the 2010 bearings are different on the belt drive side. So you'd need to 03-09 bearings. Bearings arent especially difficult, you'll need a blind hole puller with slide hammer. Stick the new ones in the freezer. If you have many miles on your current bearings its worthwhile to go ahead and change em out. Especially if your putting a new axle in.

The 3-bearing kit can be used on non-2010 bikes too...ask me how I know this?...I have the two outer spacers on my 2008.
