Buell riders-Chicago/napperville area

Nice!!! I used to live on Fullerton, right across the front of the Jr High from 1974 to 82. I started riding out there on bicycles, mini bikes, a 1967 Suzuki scrambler, as well as who ever would let me ride their motorcycle. I used to ride the seven hills behind the barn on bloomingdale road, which had the big climb at the end. Also we used to race from my house to K-Mart on North Ave taking the trail that went right in front of the Glendale Heights water tower, now where President St. goes through. I believe hobo jungle was on the other side of Schmale road toward Carol Stream, I do remember a lot of good times out there.

I think in total Have gotten in contact with about 5 of you fellow buell riders. I am trying to get a ride together for next weekend. I have text-ed and FB you guys for opinions on what day to meet up, where, and possible roads.

Really hoping we could get a couple of us together. I don't know about you guys but I have never gotten to ride with other buells.

Where did you guys end up riding?

I am going this Saturday to ride with a guy I went to high school with from Glendale Heights that I have not seen since 1980, and he is living in the DFW area. He rides a big Harley, I won't give him too hard a time for it though.

I rode in Texas with a rider on a Harley from class of 83 at Glenbard North who I have not seen since 1981. Amazing I can't remember what I did last week but we could recall things we did at hidden pond as well as Glenside. I represented the Buell well as both motorcycles were both 2 up and I am still amazed at how Nimble and comfortable the Uly is compared to the big xxxxxxxglide Harley.

I also rode with about 30 Harleys downtown Dallas on Sunday for a church ride. They were quite amused and kept asking if I was on a beamer. I laughed and said it was a Buell, they did not have a sense of humor until one of the club leaders said that Buells were cool and he used to own one. Glad I did not kicked out of or by a biker church. I also said thanks for letting me ride with your gang, mistake, I hate when they just look at you like their trying to decide if you should live or not. Then I was informed it was a biker club and I should not refer to them as a gang, ever ever again. Overall it was really fun and I will do it again.

I am going to be at the Hoffman Estates Cabelas Aug 7-10 doing a small 2014 Silverado show in the parking lot. I won't have my bike unfortunately. But y'all should swing by anyway. Show is Saturday and Sunday. GM has pulled our RideNDrive though. Insurance is too expensive.
Statics only, but for those interested, I do have some dealer test drive incentives.
I will then be going to McCormick place the following week for the firefighters convention.

well I ride huntley all the time and lake in the hills up to hoffman estates. usually all my daily commutes are in this area. if anyone wants to meet up at the cycle gear in hoffman or something. Im trying to think of destinations. id like to get some photos of my buell with a couple others for a change.
