buell touring seat.................?

so i just got my buell touring seat in the mail, put it on and took it for a 80 mile ride. now idk if it needs to be broke in or what but it feels worse than the stock seat!? made my ass hurt. from what i have read i figured they would be more plush and better for long distances. any experiences???

I felt exactly the same when I first put mine on but now after I've put about 6K on it it's fully broken in. I'd say once the hot summer gets here you will start to notice a difference after about 1000 miles or so. The heat softens up the foam and helps it conform to you. Even though it was not any softer at first, I appreciated the lip that kept my ass from sliding to the back of the seat during acceleration. On cold days it will still be as hard as the stock seat but it will be conformed to your backside and you won't notice it as much. Razman

my stock seat is softer than my touring seat! lol. i kinda figured it needed broke in but damn. i want this seat to be my "his and her" seat as im going to chop up my stocker and make it a solo seat. i guess if all else fails i could buy some of those gel pads and have my friend dismantle my seat and install for me. i'll give it some more mileage though. thanks for the feedback

All my daughters like my stock seat more than the touring seat.As far as a passenger is conserned, unless they are a seasoned passenger the touring seat is not as grippy as the stocker. They will tend to slide forward during decel, so be prepared to protect your nads!
On someones personal profile they had a passenger grippy seat pad listed as a mod, I didn't know they made one, but I'm going to search on Ebay and buy one. My arms get extremely tired after riding them around for an afternoon. They do like the extra padding though.

Just looked, it was 03xb that had it listed in his mods. "Ebay passenger butt grip" is what he called it. I would call it smart protection for ************!
