I was at a local bike parts shop yesterday,just to chat,check out stuff and the guy seemed fairly knowledgeable .We(I) got on the topic of Buells,and he said that Erik was getting the Buell name back from H.D. I wasn't so sure it was true. Anybody else know anything?

why not just ask Erik himself.
but I seriously doubt that HD would do that, they are all about money so they may and only may be in very very distant future when the y have alot of new leadership and stockholder fire this bunch of idoits, maybe in a long time from now they may just slap the buell name on some POS bike because they want to retain the HD brand name for bikes that have not had much change in many many years, whe they fell the need to make money off of the younger crowd and sell a sport TYPE bike if they can ever figure out what that is . no a sportster is not a sport bike or sporty HD.
anyways sorry for the rant on HD back to what i was saying,
if they SELL Erik back His BUELL Motorcycles Company it would ONLY BE THE NAME, and not anything else expept may be the liquid cooled bikes patents , 1125r , 1125CR & 1125RR.
But seriously ask Erik Buell on his facebook page he answers question pretty quikly himself. if he is leagally able too on certain subjects!
side note:
Erik Buell Racing is his new company and it is 100% his and he is loving it and all the freedom he has there and the FREE REIN there to do what he wants to do and how and when to do it. I dont think he whats to be held down by any legal bs any more , although he does have to still deal with HD on the legal rights and the Licensing he has from HD for the 1125R & 1125RR and parts.
But i bet he would love to have his Buell Motorcycle company name brand back too, but not the headache.
I really dont care which he would use for his future bikes, because they are HIS bikes, a BUELL IS BUELL because of Erik and his designs and patents, with or without HD and better off now without HD.even though he took a sportster engine and turned it in to something it was NEVER designed or meant to be , from a bike motor that was an old design and like a tractor ,
in to a Mean Agressive World Class High power/ High torque put into true Sports bike like No Other bike out there!! just like what this guys says in this video,at the bottom.
But quite frankly
I am looking forward to in the future owning and riding and seeing his future bikes all to be known as an
Erik Buell Racing motorcycle / EBR motorcycle.

Buell doesn't need H/D, looking forward to the day he has some (hopefully) for sale. Thats probably a ways away.Still though,1190RR would be a great choice with a couple more maybe 3 more models to choose from w /some smaller bikes for those who want that! Waiting Sucks He may just stay w/ Racing, Time will tell.
