How does that work, just swapping the seats? Wouldn't I need to swap out the subframe as well to do the split seat? If so, Im down to do a trade...

yeah, you will need to strip down the subframe as well.

don't they just bolt right up just by swapping everything out

Its all bolt up ! The lightnings got its ecm in the sub frame, fire bolt in the fering brake res lines mount a bit different to so i would swap them as well also trade the key mechanisms so your key works with the new cable. Buells have been known to destroy a heimen a time or to congradulations on poping your cherry enjoy the maddness that follows!
