i know this is very cheep and childish but could some buellers chuck some pictures up of them or others doing wheelies , and maybe how u personally do it , just trying to get an understanding of different technicques and styles,cheers...:)

Dont do it!!! Or practice on a shitty bike with gear. The risks out weigh the cool factor in my mind.

Plus the fact that it is a Felony... And comes with a large fine, impound of your bike, and some jail time if done on a public road.

There are some decent videos on utube that teach how to wheelie...just always remember to cover ur rear brake!

Rduncan what are you talking about? Here in Wisconsin you get disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle for $429 or a display of hp ticket nothing more.

1st power wheelie
2nd gear clutch wheelie depends how fast your going if your doing 45-50 I rev it to 6200 and let the clutch out
2nd gear stand up wheelie Stand up compress the shocks during rebound pull up and accelerate at the same time.

Once you get good 2nd gear clutch wheelie ride it out and shift to third.

But I do agree Cover your rear brake and if you have a beater bike use that. If not prepare to rebuild your forks.

Oh and if you chopped your tail you will rip off your license plate. like i did. P.S. mine was accidental as i hit the gas a bit hard. oops

Well, here in Florida it is a Felony $1,000 fine for 1st offence, 2nd offence is $2,500 and loss of licence for 1 year. 3rd is $5,000 and permanent loss of licence.

It definitely isnt a felony here in NM either... I used to do them all the time, but never got caught. My buddies did though and got let off with a warning. I beleive the usual fine is around $100 though.

Wow, I live in California and it's no more than a speeding ticket would be and usually not even that high.

i love doing wheelies but i live in the middle of nowhere so im not to worried about getting caught.

punch it in first around 3500 to 4000 rpm with a slight tug at the bars and when it comes up shift into second w/o the clutch you should be able to ride it out pretty far

i remember reading an article a while back about florida creating the "wheelie law" and basically said everything said up above, as far as i know florida is the only state like that....

I work with a local cops father and he is ok if i do it in the parking lot at work. did it one morning he was there and he that thats how it should be done on a closed course by a professional... i'm no prefessional though.

cheers for the input guys , in australia the laws pretty cruisy i couldnt see it being any more than a speeding fine , but ill think twice about it now

Im not too big on stunting on the buell, but I will power wheelie it in first every once in awhile. The guys with I ride with who have i4's are always speechless and pissed they cant do that.

I did power wheelies when I first got the XB. Just whack the throttle open in first gear, it'll come up.

i have gotten on mine pretty hard, never had mine come up on me, not that i am complaining. i am about 170, and kinda surprised that some of you say you can get the front end to lift by just hammering on the throttle. what do you guys weigh?
