I'm not sure what question your trying to ask, but ill try to give you a answer. The motor shares some of the same numbers
To give you a example from a xb12 califorina bike.

Vin# 4mzwx59j478000080
Engine# x597000080

I get what your saying now...I have a couple of questions
1) is it blue tagged?
2) is the vin# made of dots or solid stamped? or pm me your vin and motor number and ill tell you everything you want to know.

What do you mean by blue tagged? The VIN on the right side by the neck is dotted, I haven't found the other VIN locations yet. My VIN is: 4MZWX03D973500764

That's also a nice little annual check list to go over your bike with.. Very nice!

I found an 09 SCG and I have a question about the VIN number. In section #4 of the buyers guide, it lists 12, 14, 57, and 59. The vin in the SCG for sale, it states 03 and then where the J is listed, this vin has a D. Everything else in the vin looks ok to me. Should I be concerned about the engine type?

Don't mean to bump such an old post, but I'll definitely have to reference this list when I go to take a look at an XB12S in the near future! Thanks!

I bought a bike recently incomprehensible to me firm. And I don't care the main thing that went dorthin
. But I need to improve it a little bit add a flashlight to the AI..

Heading out to look at an 08 xb12xt this weekend with 44k on it. Also an 03 and an 06 xb12r both with mileage in the teens. Anything else to watch out for?
