Hello my fellow Buell enthusiasts! [up]

I am pretty sure i was a member here a few yrs ago...couldn't find my account though, so started a new one. [cool]

Anyway...after regrettably selling my previous 09 1125CR just around 3yrs ago, I was fortunate enough able to purchase another one last week, thanks to this very website! BUT- she is not with me yet (only in spirit)...not for another week or so. I reside in NY (the Beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley Region), and the VERY accommodating and super-friendly BuellXB.com member just happened to live app. 100mls from my sister in VA...and he actually delivered the bike to her for me (for free!). [up]

So the bike is currently safe and sound in her garage at the moment, and I plan on going down there around Labor Day weekend to actually work on her house for about a week...so my baby will hop in the back of my truck when I'm done and head back north at that time.

Until then, the only pics I have of her are the ones I am posting now (many more will come though). She is stock with the exception of a sweet FMF Apex carbon fiber pipe (hope it doesn't explode on me! lol...well maybe i DO...that way I can order a Keda RT-3) and a Laminar Lip.

Since i can't ride her yet, I figured I can at least buy some presents for her. So far:

-Cortech Super 2.0 18-Liter Strap Mounted Tank Bag
-Cortech Super 2.0 24-Liter Tail Bag
-CRG RC2 shorties (black)
-Tail Tidy (eBay seller creese1)
-Black Uly pegs (the 1in drop should give me a little more leg room at 6-1)
-Clear LED tail light from Robert at xblights.com (ordered)
-Black CRG ARROW BILLET BAR END BAREND MIRRORS (from my previous 1125CR)
-For me: New SCORPION EXO 900 SOLID GLOSS BLACK TRANSFORMER MODULAR HELMET ($162 shipped from eBay)

----

VERY near future mods:
-EBR race ECM
-Saddle (Saddlemen?)
-Heated grips(?)
-Permanent STATOR FIX!??!!!

Whipped up a new graphic for the back of my ol' XJ the other night (matte black Scotchcal 220 vinyl). Yes, i wanted the "subtle" look...and I think I achieved it. :D

I do...but I usually don't offer too much custom stuff until my "real" job slows down (winter time). :)

I always have a few items on eBay (user: DeVriesSignsATgmail), but sometimes I can barely keep up with that stuff when I'm busy doing home improvements.full time...

That's a hell of a shine on those plastics! I'd love to know how to do that.

FLAME ON!!

Been messin' around with some flame graphics. (they won't be light gray as shown). I think I'm going to make them come all the way to the front edge of the pod instead of starting at the gloss paint edge, though (thoughts? comments?).

Once I have the layout/design established the way I want them, I will probably make a set in bright red and slap em' on...but I will probably wind up rollin' with matte black ones for my "permanent" ones...

I am waiting on a set of black Oberon bar end turn signals to come in...can't wait to install them babies!

Don't really care for the flames transferring to the frame. Same with them starting at the opening. I just don't like graphics that transfer from one type of surface straight to the next. Looks "slapped on" to me. To others, it's integrated... just not IMO.

Make one set for the pods, and another set for the frame.

Maybe a pinstripe kind of flame in red? Would match the wheels pretty well, keep it subtle.Easier on the complex curves too (unless you're using car wrap vinyl)

Just my opinion of course.

Another idea... car wrap the bulge on the plastic part of the scoops... not the leading edge, but the portion that sticks out right behind it... in red. It'll be bright, but not so huge that it's over-powering.

I wound up making the flames using matte black (3M Scotchcal™ cast vinyl) with an 1/8in silver medal print on it. I still may overlay some thinner red flames on top of this...not really sure yet though...[confused]

It's subtle, but still pops because of the silver striping. :D
