Hello all,
I just performed the breather mod to my 2006 xb12scg
it ran beautifully before, i pull it out of the shop, and try to fire it up, now it wont even idle... got it warmed up a bit, rode it, it feels like its starving for air or fuel or something. will idle once warmed up, seems like a pretty low idle though. and alot of trouble taking off in first gear, almost wants to die. i need some help please?? i do not have ecm spy or anything like that yet....need to order a cable. thanks

Something is wrong, this should have very little effect on initial startup/idle. Check the iat like he said ^.

I feel like I've read a couple similar threads on this topic in the past, but can't remember what the outcome was.

Have you googled this topic? Might come up with a quick answer.

Googled it, no luck, ill double check the plug, but there is two plugs, one on the top side of the airbox, and one below on bottom side. And by the way, no check engine light or anything.

check the vacuum fitting on the injector.... you may find it unplugged. When I removed the "California Charcoal Cannister" I had to plug that fitting (Vacuum cap).

no dice...everything was fine, all fuses are good, not exactly sure wtf is going on, but im not happy
[confused]

There is no reason why is should not work. Are you sure the vent hoses are open and not clogged or closed?

Maybe try unplugging the IAT sensor and see how it runs? If it runs better it may be a bad IAT sensor. I think I have a spare if you need one.

i will try that snrusnak....i may be into your spare one too...:) have not checked for codes, will order cable tonite!

so i installed a new iac sensor that i got from napa, i think its for a ford...but same issue, wont idle and power is weak. did the jumper code check, and i believe its throwing a 21( no check engine light has ever come on during operation) servo appears to be functioning properly...would this valve not working properly have a huge impact on the way it runs/idles?
btw, stock exhaust, just got a k&n today for it, i will try to disconnect the battery for a min. and see if it will reset itself.

Not intending to insult anyone but I threw a code 21 due to the fact that my exhaust cable was not run properly when I re-installed the air box. I also had the additional problem of the prior owner running the exhaust cable inside the sprocket cover and rubbing against my belt!

If the exhaust cable is not run properly through the guides the manual warns of malfunction. Hopefully the servo was not damaged during the airbox removal. The service manual details everything and confirmed the correct routing of all the wires/cables running from the airbox.
