I have an 03 XB9s and just purchased the ECMSPY cable and program from edipis.

On a side note - he provides a great product and support as well, I have nothing but good things to say in dealing with him. Thumbs up!

Unfortunately I've been having issues with the 03 Race Maps that I've been able to find. I would burn the Race Map to my stock EEPROM, reset the TPS and the bike does not want to fire up. To make a long story short I decided to load the 04 Race Map (as I noticed that the 03 and 04 Race ECM part number is the same) to my 03 Stock ECM. After burning the 04 Race Map and completed the TPS reset the bike fired right up... and seems to run very good.

Now onto my question.... Has anyone used another years Race Map on another year bike? Any problems? Anyone have any concerns about doing this?

Anyone have an 03 Race Map that they know works?

Also a big thanks to Stevenc150 for all the info you provided as well..

You are playing with fire if you burned an entire race eeprom to your stock ECM. They are different calibrations and can brick the entire thing. Unlikely, but possible. Best to just copy over the maps, then open two copies of ecmspy and duplicate settings from one to the other.

I separated the Fuel Map from the 04 Race File then burned just the 04 Fuel Map to my Stock EEPROM.

Does that change things? or should I reload my stock EEPROM settings and open another window with the 04 race fuel map and copy over as suggested.

That should be fine. The issue comes in trying to burn a whole race eeprom to a stock ECM. So long as you burn just map values, and copy over additional settings independently, you should be fine.

Can I ask what additional settings your talking about? Thanks for the help by the way.

As I explained to Octo. you cant cross burn the ecms. If you have an )3 ecm firmware buecb060 that ecm needed the race file from a buecb060 ecm 2003 was the only year they used one ecm with two files one stk one race.

if you have any Ib310 ecm and want to copy a race file to it. the race file is either a cb060 file or a GB231 file. you can only burn the maps. not the whole eeprom.

it can and will gam the ecm sometimes and not revert back correctly. forcing you to get a new flash from the dealer. which may not be ecmspy compatible with out tunerpro data.

I dont post here much at all but plenty here know me and request data through email or facebook.

you guys here are a good group as far as I know.

I actually loaded my stock settings back just to be on the safe side. I appreciate all the info. How can I find out what type of ecm I have in order to determine what file I need?

Thanks! Jerry

Ok, I think I figured out which ecm I have.. in ECMSPY under the EEPROM tab it shows firmware version BUECB060.

Here's the maps, I believe it's the same file Mike was looking to upload. ECMSpy Maps

Thing is, I don't know that we can upload files onto this site - believe that the Admin. would have to do that.

Hey Mike. Were you referring to burning maps from different firmwares? And using information from similar firmwares is the only option?
Thanks

thats close enough it will work. I had more and the 2008 good read as well as 2009 ecmdata in mine.

guess request are always good.
