Road a 1125cr in 2009 at bike week in Dayton and loved it, Finally have extra cash to buy a used one and am looking for advice.

I just road one with 3k miles on it And a few things seemed not quite right. Need to find out from owners if they are just quirks with the model - some thing I will need to live with, or if this bike has some issues.

I road the bike a solid half hour and it was warmed up - every time I was cruising on it in 3rd gear at between 4 and 5k rpms and gaved it a twist of trottle, it completely bogged down. This only happened in 3rd. I had to shift into 4th or down shift into 2nd to get the rpms beyond 4k before shifting back to 3rd! This seemed odd? Any ideas?

Another issue is that it was often hard to get into 1st from neutral. Other than those 2 issues, it ran good..

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions or future advise when looking for a Cr, there aren't too many around!

Cheers, Aaron

The bogging down was intentional. It is a restriction from the factory in order to pass sound emissions. A $5 fix. I can't imagine why it would be hard to get into first. The CR is amazing!!!!! Good luck.

The first to neutral thing is normal I think. I've owned 2 CR's already and ridden two R's. I spose thats with them all.

I have never had a bogging prob.with my R above 4 grand,Is this bike stock,or does it have a custom pipe that may not be tuned to it.Dirty air clearner maybe. You should have got off that bike with a smile from ear to ear after half an hour.:D First gear can be a bit funny on most bikes at times.Mostly when you realy need first,in a hurry

Hi Breto, the bike is completely stock. It ran great except in third gear. While cruising at 4k rpms, when I gave it gas' it bogged down requiring me to shift out of that gear. It happened in no other gear. I would have never found this problem if I had cruised in third gear because when riding it moderately, it behaved like a rocket when powering through the gears. My FZ1 has bogged on me twice when i rode it after sitting for more than a week or when i had bad gas (but not in just one gear). The current owner didn't seem concerned, said that's how it always behaved, fickle at low rpms.

I should also note the right side has minor damage, scratches from being dropped on another bike in transport, very cosmetic as i don't think the bike has been wrecked as it road great.

Thanks for your reply! Cheers, Aaron

I'm an R owner. I can tell you that the bike does not like low RPMs. Never had problems with the N shift thing though.

Mine is hard to get into Neutral as well. Have to shift to Neutral when still rolling up to the stop. The 3rd gear bog is normal like bfletcher said. Its a $5 fix. Do a search on de-noiding a 1125 you will find all kinds of ways to get rid of the problem. EBR ECM will fix the bog and low RPM problems if u want to go that route. 225 bucks and done.

^^ same here... I usually cruise around 5K rpm...it may seem kinda high, but you will notice quickly that your bike will have more response. if you need to move in a hurry, keeping the bike at about 5K will help you do that.

and maybe shift into third gear a bit later allowing for your beginning revs in that gear to be a bit higher. try shifting from 2nd to 3rd at about 6-7K rpm so that you end up at about 4.5-4K rpm once you are in 3rd.

Thanks everyone, good info. The price is right so I think I am going to go for it, the CR's are hard to come by.

Cheers, Aaron

De-nioding,very interesting. For some riders a big problem, for me and others hasnt been a prob.I bought my bike with 1200KLM on the clock, maybe mine has been done already,I will be checking it out.I love 2 and 3 on the 1125r.:) Thanks guys for this info. [up]
