I am currently riding a 07XB12scg and I am looking at buying an 08 1125R. Someone had told me, where I am from, to stay away from the 08 because it had to many problems. This person told me that they tend to have a heat problem. Seeing how this person had never owned a Buell, I dont want to put to much stock in what he has to say. So my question is, Is the 08 1125R a good bike to have or do I need to look at the 09 and 10?

They have a few electrical problems, but Al at ASB seems to think they are just as reliable as XBs.

Just be prepared to put on new aftermarket LED turn signals.

I have had my 08 1125R since new and have had no trouble what so ever. A great bike that you will enjoy "No Doubt [up] !

I have had very few problems with my '08 as well. and by now...most issues have been resolved and should be under warranty. I have had it for 12K miles and still have a blast on the thing.

RT is correct, the 08 stators are the ones that are rock solid so far. The 09-10's are the ones having problems right now. They went to a three phase stator in 09 and it is creating too much heat and burning up the stators. Matter of fact mine has been in the shop for two weeks right now for a stator issue. The 2008's they seem to have ironed out for the time being.

Thanks everyone! I should be getting the bike in a couple of weeks.(Based on when I can get there to get it). I will post pics when I pick it up. But I have one more question. Does it hate to run low RPMs like the lightnings? What I mean is, does it like to run rough under 3k rpm?

To cure the laggy low RPM issues your first mod should be an Erik Buell Racing ECM. My bike runs so smooth with his ECM. Plus if you buy his ECM and upgrade your exhaust within a year they we will re-flash your ECM for the new setup for free.

True trbulnt, that was the best mod I did. The EBR ECM smooths out all the low end problems plus u gain a bunch of mid range.
