im picking up an 03 xb9s with 3600 miles on wednesday of this week for $3800 is that a good deal? it comes with an after market exhaust, i have no idea what kind other than that its stock. i was wondering what the next mod should be? i was thinking maybe ecm upgrade and kn air filter? what do you guys think?

I'm not a Buell expert but I know with other bikes and cars I've worked on a good tune can go a long way. Kn filters don't give you any power.

Kn filters don't give you any power.

K&N or race filter is a MUST if you're doing any upgraded ECM. A open airbox mod, K&N, exhaust and remap is almost 20% hp gain!

I would say at least get the Race ECM, and better yet, remap it yourself with ECM spy or have it remapped at Americansportbike.com

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I bought my 04 XB12S for $4k with 3000 miles.... which was a stellar find. It only took me 3 months and 14 hours of driving though[up]

I forgot, yeah great deal! The 03 did have a weaker belts. Be prepared to buy the newer, wider belt system soon. It will last over 50,000 miles rather than 17,000

I purchased my 03 xb9s for $4200.00 cdn which is roughly about $3500.00usd. It has the factory race kit (Exhaust,K&N and ECM) but other than that it is stock. So it sounds like with the lower mileage on yours it would be a good deal. Good luck.. and have fun with your mods.

yeah thats an excellent deal! My brother just bought one about 2 months ago. it was a 2003 xb9 and it had about 3500 miles with tons of extras and custom paint job for only $4,000. so you are getting a good deal
