buzzing sound from under the airbox cover

3 days ago, i started to hear some buzzing sound from around air-filter cover.

I feel it is different with oil pump sound.

Any of you knows what is it?

I had my a buzzing sound in the same area and the check engine light came on on my XB12 and turned out the exhaust servo motor was bad.

where is exhaust servo motor?. No check engine light...

The servo motor is on top of the airbox. But as there is no cel I'd rule that out. The noise it makes more of a whine in my opinion anyway. I had a similar problem though and it turned out i'd re-installed the airbox poorly and it was vibrating while the bike was running.

My servo did the same thing then crapped out and kicked on the engine light. I just got the exhaust servo eliminator from eBay and it fixes the CEL. I just removed the servo and the wiring harness.

Does it have a servo eliminator or did the PO move the servo, i have seen people move them under the seat..... My initial thought goes to the servo as well. Is your bike a 9 or 12?

it is 2004 12r. I have no idea how the servo look like.. Do you have any pics?

Maybe eliminated. i saw a cable which don't connect with another under the seat.

Do you have a stock exhaust? You should post some pics of the cable and of your open airbox mod. Im sure we will be able to see if you have a servo or not.

yeah i Googled about it. My bike is eliminated exhaust servo. but i don't know where this buzzing sound coming. [sad][mad]
