I did it. I fought a speeding ticket and won!

well, the CHP officer didn't show, so there really isn't much story here. There isn't a 3rd point on my record either! :D

I had some pretty good evidence that attacked the officer's credibility too...

I'm jealous. That means my ticket could have been dismissed too. Instead I'm out the $370 the total is up to now. It's going to hit $400 when I decide to do traffic school.

I'm fighting a cs ticket I got on my Ducati a couple months ago, CHP who else. I'm going the written declaration route.

were you actually speeding or no. just wondering if it was the truth that won or not.

california has a funky fee schedule.

1-15mph over posted limits is about 214
16-30 over is somewhere around 380
over 30 is pretty steep.

so the big thing about the case would have been the "point" on my record; Causing higher insurance rates until it comes off.

$78 shoot

California is pretty steep. The point system sucks too.

4 points in 12 months = a suspension
so does 6 points in 18 months
or 8 in 24 months

I wouldn't mind getting popped for speeding all day long, but the point system screws that all up. Not to mention the insurance carriers go off of the points on your record. It doesn't matter if you got in accidents or got pulled over for failure to signal, a point is a point, and more points mean higher insurance rates.

It was $270 for my in-town ticket at 19 over (they claimed I was doing 48 in a 25, I showed up and it was reduced to 19 over). This ticket was ******** because he claimed I managed to accelerate up a hill from 0-48 in less than 500 feet on a Blast, which I wish was possible... I didn't fight it because just lost wages to miss work was the ticket price and more lost time at work would have made it even more. Much less the small-town officer was a ******* to me and fed me a bunch of **** about sportbikes... I was just thinking "It's a single cylinder thump-er *******..."

On my XB12R I got one for 10 over on the interstate (actually was 16, but again got dropped) and that was $170-ish, this ticket was legit. I tried to pass a semi on the left and the cop was on the other side of the truck, invisible to me. The county trooper was nice though, just happened to be the end of the month.

we had a group of us (30 mixed sport bikes, not just buell) riding one night, couple guys were doing wheelies and standing on their seats... cops turned their lights on, everyone scrambled and went in different directions. Dont think anyone got pulled over.

In New York state they put me in handcuffs and kept telling me they were going to take my bike and made me sit on it in a downpour. I talked them out of taking the bike and let me ride it to my house 1 mile away. I had to get a lawyer to fight the ticket 100mph in a 55mph. I got it reduced to 65 in a 55 and they waived the points on my record. Cost me around 500 dollars (lawyer and fine). I was lucky.

Pretty damn lucky-I had a cop trying to cut me off in a neighborhood one night-I had an f-n loud pipe&he thought I was speeding just from the sound-he actuall was racing around with all his lights off! Trying to catch me in the act-I wasn't speeding@ all!just coming home late from work!
He lectured me about sportbikes &wanted to take my bike!but he had nothing,I had liscence ,insurance&he rolled up on me in my driveway!
I wanted to lecture him about driving like an idiot with his lights off @ night-But somehow wisdom took over-I can't tell you all how many times just having a motorcycle liscence &insurance let me walk.Apparently there's alota riders who don't bother.

this is true. Got pulled over a month or 2 back because the car behind me peeled out, the cop thought it was me, but when he ran my license, he saw I had insurrance and proper license to ride. He said "I'm just surprised you had an endorsement, try to slow down a bit and have a good night."

Every time I've been pulled over, I had both, and never once got away without a citation
