I have recently had to take my front wheel off a few times now. I always do a number to my rim. I was hoping someone out there knows of a touch-up paint that matches I've been searching all over for something but haven't came up with anything near the same color. Please help.

As far as I know Buell didn't do a touch up paint for Sunset Orange so unless somebody has a secret paint code or a comparable touch up paint from another manufacturer I would guess you will have to go a paint shop and get them to do a colour match.

From everything I've read buell didn't make one. Someone out there has to know of something close. I can't be the only sunset owner that has wanted to touch up the rims.

Mine were in pretty good shape:D

Try ford code PQ. It's the new red that's on the raptors and mustangs. Might be close enough. Should be able to pick up one of the little duplicolor touch up bottles of it.

Cool thanks buelly I will look into that. I just sent dupli-color an email just a few minutes ago asking for suggestions. I've been looking up traffic red also. Thanks lunatic for your help too.

I would pop down Napa or some where that can mix a custom mix paint by using a light gun. You could also try a friendly paint shop with a book of colour chips that you could come pair to find a similar automotive paint....

Did that today camouflage they came up with nothing. They couldn't come up with anything close. Race red is way to red I'm half tempted to get some red and orange testers and try to hand mix some.

well here is an off the wall idea........ why not try nail polish....... you can get loads of different shades that could match and it drys like gloss paint :D

Good idea camouflage I've been looking at them too lol if there is a will there is a way!! I bought a few different enamel craft paints just to mix to see if I can come up with something close. It's a tough one to match even by hand.

A few years ago I bought a sunset orange air box and front fender new from H-D but had to have the chin spoiler and windscreen painted to match since they were unavailable in that color. Took them to a place that specializes in custom paint called color works in Keller Texas and he said it was the hardest color he ever had tried to match. He said the only thing he could liken the color to was a really ripe tomato.

Ya that's what the paint places around here say but they don't even want to try to match it. I had pretty good luck with my craft paint. I did find a finger nail polish from opi witch is almost spot on. It's called... a good man Darin is hard to find. My wife almost soiled herself because my name is Darin. I guess it's a sign lol.
