Hey Guys
Yes I am this stupid, in a hurry to change crash damage, road rash right side ignition cover. Well I just pulled the cover off without even removing the cover rivets, just pulled off the cover and everything fell into my lap!! (I dont even drink!)
Now after reading the not too descriptive service manual, things dont look too simple.
Thanks for any help, I can publish pics.

The pics would help to clarify the situation some as well as knowing the year of your bike. Would exploded views like the pic below help you any? If so, I have an '03 Bolt Parts Manual in .pdf if you'd like to post up your email.

BTW,
This is , of course my first Buell, been doing my own work on Asian bikes for years, now I feel like maybe working on weed eaters might not be safe !
This is a plea for help from someone very close to tears !
Oh yea, it's an'03 XB9
Thanks

Peter;
Having done the exact same thing, I feel your pain.

I did however manage to get the cams back in, and timed correctly, with the engine still in the bike. The back cams lined up fine with the rockers in place, but I had to rotate the engine forward and pull the rocker cover and rocker mounts off of the front cylinder. Knock the pivot shafts out of the rockers, that gave me plenty of play in the lifters to get the cams in and timed correctly. Once you have the cams in and the cam cover on, spin the engine over so that the front cylinder is at TDC (both valves closed) Loosen the bolts on the rocker mount (7 bolts, if I remember correctly) enough to give you room to get the pivot pins back into place. Tighten everything up to spec. and you should be golden.

Sorry if my "how-to" is unclear... Just let me know if you have any questions. It's still too early in the morning to think. I haven't even finished my coffee yet.

Thank you Buellysses,
I will be back in the garage Tue am,(day off)That sounds like a reasonable idea, my engine is already to rotate down. My concern is that the shop manual is not real clear on how to degree these 4 cams. Maybe when I see it in the morning over coffee it will jump out at me. Also, I have seen nothing about the correct position of the trigger, but again last night I went into retard mode when I saw what happened!
Thanks sir
