can anyone help my front pushrod o ring has gone?.

and its got worse oil all over me foot so bike now of road ,i know the head has to come off to do this ,can the engine mounts be took out but leave the swingarm mount in and swing engine down to get to top front rocker cover ,or is there a qwick fix.xb9 firebolt 02.thanks oddball.

the whole head doesnt have to come off, just the rocker box. download the service manual up top and it will give you a step by step. not very difficult. there is a certain procedure to torque it back down though.

hi thanks for info looks like engine out again then had to put new gear selector rods in & new spring on neutral selector arm ,only had xb9 3 months but its better than the harley but a lot harder to work on on your own .can you get custom pushrod covers ie like harley easyer to work with .

Hi all the web site above dose custom pushrod covers
no more engine turn no need to strip top rocker ,done my o ring to day took 5 hrs to strip n rebuild so far so good .

xb9r 02 runing rough.
push rod o rings ok (no leak) but took her for a run yesterday and not good .
1st, started ok idle ok at 1st i was in 4 gear at about 2000-2500rpm doin about 40mph throtle held at this speed then she shot forward as if i bliped the throtle also noticed rev's hanging up ,so i give her a good run seamed to be lacking power well throtle responce not as sharp as usual, when chainging gear rev's holding at about 3000rpm when i got to island the rev's droped to about 400rpm had to rev bike to keep it going ,as soon as i could i pulled over ,turned up idle to 1000rpm tryed to turn up a bit more but as i was turning rev's started to drop of again so had to turn it back but it would only settle at about 980rpm ,then give her another run about 5 miles rev's droping a bit faster through gear chaing thers a flat spot and dosent like running at lower speeds getting more backfireing on shut down ,
throtel cable not as lose as it should be but it was like this when i had her iv'e looked on forum and i think i need to TPS but befor i download ecm and buy a usb cable just wanted some help ps when put together all cables and sencers put back in place.
