Can't Get My 'Bolt To Run, IAC?

Turned mine over today. Checked for spark. There was spark two out of the seven times I turned it over???

TML, we've run it down to be the fuel pump on his bike. I'm pretty sure the funky noise from the IAC was from lack of fuel getting to the unit. He found a nick in his fuel line which is what cued us into the direction (it shot fuel out when it actually primed), we then determined that he had noticed the priming on the fuel pump (noise) getting weaker and that we hadn't heard it in a while. We pulled the pump last night and hooked up one I had sitting around from an 03 which primed strong. We plugged his back in and no prime. We're now at the point of ordering the airtech equivalent of the walbro 521 since the 521 is not offered anymore. So if you're looking for a pump now just go with the PN E2366. Decided to order it online and we'll put it in when it gets here and go from there.

A little more info on the replacement pump -- I found a thread on BadWeB that had a lot of cross referenced pumps (wolfo and I went to Autozone last night to try and pick one up and they have the Airtex E2366 (which is the pump/strainer set) for $112. Thought that was a bit steep so I wanted to shop around. Called O'Reilly's/Advanced Auto and it was around that same price (NAPA was closed already).

Anyways, from the thread on BadWeB they have a few links where you can buy replacement pumps. You CAN still buy an OE Walbro 521 fuel pump and this site, jdsperformance.com - Walbro 521, had the best price I could find quickly. They have it for $88.40 (I think it was $95 shipped).

I still wanted to see if I could find a better price and figured Rock Auto would have something, seeing as its just a Mustang pump. They have the E2366 set for $80.89 +shipping. After reading more on the BadWeB thread I saw this:

Punching in their search engine the Walbro 521 is used in 1985-1986 Mustang 6 cylinder 3.8Liter... This crosses to Airtex E2061 which you can get at many auto parts stores. The strainer looks like it might be an Autozone FS220 and the filter is either an FF3419DL or FF3330DL. Total will be around $125 plus tax.

So back at Rock Auto, you can get just the pump here - Airtex E2061 pump for $64.89 ($73.14 shipped to my door).

Hope this helps anyone with fuel pump problems. Will post up when we get it done and hopefully its to say that she's alive again!

Dont know if it might help,but also check the back side of the fuses and relays,i had one that had a bad ground on the relay.it always tested good from the top side,but when i turned the relay panel over and went in the back side i found it.good luck either way

ztied, if we don't fix it this way we'll keep that in mind and take a closer look at the fuse and relay boxes.

I'm working on an IAC issue and I see here that you might have cross referenced the IAC. Were you able to find a cross reference for it?

When I did my rebuild going on a year and a half ago I replaced mine. My local HD dealer couldn't get one, obsolete part. They did a nation wide search for one and there were 5 in the country. 2 ended up being an inventory mistake. Got mine from Appleton or Hal's in Wisconsin. I'm pretty sure I have my old one lying around some ware. I changed mine to have all new sensors and parts when rebuild was complete. It's in good working order. PM me if your interested.
