Carbon build up....

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

Sure will. I've contacted Dean and I'm definitely going to be ordering a set of headers from him. I just have to wait for the ole tax return so I don't catch too much grief from the wife. My bike has become quite the money pit!
I also think I found a good lead for a local dyno tune!
Happens that one of the mechs at my local HD is tuber guy! He has some connections and is willing to help an XB guy out!
Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted

Any luck with cleaning the carbon? Do the valves have carbon on them? Did your motorcycle have breather reroute before you had found too much dirt in the engine?

TPEHAK- this thread is 2 years old!
And I had to read it from the beginning to remember I started it!
Three things to report regarding this thread, after my second rebuild:
1) I would still like a Dean Adams full system but am unable to justify dumping any more money into my bike since it runs perfectly fine.
2) I do not have a wife band set up. Would love to make that mod but see reasoning of #1.
3) I do have a breather reroute. I've been running a very simple, very cheap, reroute for as long as I can remember on my bike. Only time I ever find anything coming from said breathers is a very small amount of oil vapor condensation when it rains or the temperature changes drastically.

No my valves never looked like yours. At the time of my 37k rebuild there was normal and minimal carbon build up on the bases of the valves. At the second rebuild there was nothing on the valves.
I've never seen crystallized carbon build up, or any for that matter, on my valve stems.

Hope this somehow helps.
